A Big First Week - Thank You!

In most campaigns there are special interests that form around issues and donate money to candidates who closely match their ideas.  In a treasurer’s campaign, like this, it is only about trust … meaning that the people who will donate to this type of campaign are usually family, and friends and people you’ve worked with for years who believe that you can continue to help as many people as possible while safeguarding the public’s money.

In the past week I’ve begun to call on family and friends and associates to help raise money for this upcoming campaign.  I find it great fun to catch up with so many people I respect around the county while also going to as many community events as possible.

We have a great story to tell about how my office has made government work better, and how we can continue to improve for you.  My calls this week have been a blessing and give me confidence for the year ahead.  Today, January 17^th, our campaign has $12,000 in the bank and another $8,000 in committed donations.  It is a great beginning as we try to raise $50,000 by the end of February to prepare to run a professional campaign for the June 10^th election.

Thank you for helping make this a great start in our efforts to restore and build trust in how our government should work to help, and partner with, our citizens to build a stronger Richland County!  I will do everything I can to live up to the faith you have shown in me.
