Adams speaks at a Statehouse Jobs Rally in 2009.

I am happy to announce that I will be running for re-election as Richland County Treasurer in the June 2018 primary.  The world has changed so much since I was the youngest elected Treasurer in South Carolina in 2002, but one thing has never changed – my commitment to helping every person who needs it.

My office has done so much to find new ways for people to handle their tax burden, find the tax cheaters who cheat us all, and to help Richland County’s citizens through the maze of government.  I have remained the only elected official who answers his phone, meets anyone who walks in to our office with a problem, and gets out in the public to assist at the busiest times – all to make sure that your experience with government is a good one.

The Richland County Treasurer’s Office has been the one place where we’ve used technology to help people in their daily business, fought for state legislation to make it easier for our taxpayers, and builr innovative programs that make dealing with taxes more simple for the people we serve.  We’ve been the leader in South Carolina in working for our people.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished.  I have enjoyed working with so many of you in the past, and I hope to continue to be the Treasurer who gets it “right on the money” for you every day into the future.

Take a look around this website.  I hope that you’ll see why I’m so proud to represent you. Until we see each other again, or talk for the first time, I hope you will contact me if you have questions or ever need anything at all.

All the Best,

David A. Adams, Richland County Treasurer
